The Deer Path Art League is Seeking a Curator

The Deer Path Art League seeks a Curator for its new gallery in the Gorton Community Center in Lake Forest.  Responsibilities include working with the Board of Directors to identify artists and procure art for the Deer Path Art League Gallery and for other art related League events as determined by the Board.  Primary responsibilities include planning, organizing, coordinating and presenting monthly shows and Opening Receptions.  The Curator works closely with the Art League Coordinator to maintain inventory in the gallery and assure that each show is well promoted. 

With prior Board approval, the Curator is encouraged to develop activities or events designed to increase traffic and sales in the gallery (e.g. holiday boutiques, demonstrations, trunk shows, etc.). 

This is a part time position averaging 24 – 30 hours per month. 

Experience working in an arts setting, an understanding of working with volunteer Boards and good communication skills both oral and written are essential.
